The Stornoway Trust is committed to the principle of Fair Work for our workforce and applying the principles of Fair Work across our activities.  For the Trust, Fair Work is an ongoing process that will be developed in consultation with employees.

Fair Work policy is being developed in line with the Scottish Government's policy for driving high quality, fair work, and workforce diversity across the labour market in Scotland.

The Trust specifically commits to the following:

• payment of at least the Real Living Wage

• providing channels for effective workers' voices

• investment in workforce development

• no inappropriate use of zero hours contracts

• action to tackle any gender pay gap and create a more diverse and inclusive workplace

• offering flexible and family friendly working practices for all workers

• opposing the use of fire and rehire practice
