The Stornoway Trust

We are Scotland’s oldest community land trust.  The land was gifted to the community in 1923 by Lord Leverhulme. 

 

Our role is the stewardship of the 69,000-acre estate, home to around 11,000 people comprising of over 40 townships, 1,300 crofts, 200 allotments, farmland, and Lews Castle Grounds.
